ABOUT RHODES TRAVELED

Ashley & Nate

Hi there! We’re Nate and Ashley Rhodes — partners in life, adventure, and a little blog we like to call Rhodes Traveled.

Our journey together began on a warm July evening in 2008, when fireworks lit up the sky and, well… something sparked between us too. Seventeen years later (and twelve of those married), we’re still exploring the world hand in hand, collecting memories, not things.

Travel has become more than just a passion — it’s our way of life. From wandering ancient ruins to getting lost in bustling markets, we’ve found that the best way to connect with a culture is through its food, its stories, and its energy. Whether we’re hiking mountain trails, running through new cities, or sweating it out in a local gym, we always try to balance adventure with a little beachside reading and well-earned downtime.

Rhodes Traveled is a space for couples and solo adventurers alike — especially those without kids — who crave meaningful, active, and soul-refreshing travel. We believe you don’t need a big crew to have big experiences; just curiosity, a love for movement, and a willingness to try something new.

Ashley is a Nurse Practitioner, Certified Flight Registered Nurse, and proud dog mom to our three fur-babies. Nate brings a background in law enforcement, emergency management, and education — plus an unmatched sense of direction (seriously, it's uncanny).

This blog is our way of sharing stories, inspiring wanderlust, and showing that adventure is out there — whether it’s around the globe or just around the corner.

Let’s keep traveling — the Rhodes are calling.

Kaytee

Now that you’ve met my wonderfully adventurous sister-in-law Ashley and my somewhat less exciting brother Nate (love you, bro), it’s time to meet the real world traveler of the family — me, Kaytee.

I’m a teacher with a passport that’s seen more stamps than a post office. I’ve lived and taught in the Czech Republic, Spain, and South Korea — and in between lesson plans and language mishaps, I’ve managed to explore over 30 countries and counting.

Whether it’s catching flights, hopping trains, figuring out mystery bus routes, or navigating rental cars in countries where I barely speak the language (shoutout to Google Translate), I’ve basically earned a PhD in international transportation.

Now I’m here to help you skip the guesswork and start planning the perfect trip — no missed connections, no panic-booked hostels, just real-world-tested tips and itineraries from someone who’s been there, done that, and probably got a fridge magnet.

The travel tips from Rhodes Traveled were so spot-on, I started to think they had a GPS in my brain. Take the advice while it’s still free—before they realize they should be charging for this level of wizardry!
